One of the Rebels' grey horse indicates these are Confederate Cavalrymen. (Mar 30-Apr 2)
  • Brig. Gen. Patrick E. Connor, USA, assumes the command of the District of the Plains, the Nebraska Territory.
  • Skirmish near Five Forks, VA, the Richmond, VA, Campaign.
  • Skirmishes on the line of Hatcher's Run and Gravelly Run, VA, the Richmond, VA, Campaign.
  • Affair near Patterson's Creek, WV, about 10 miles east of Cumberland, MD, where a band of guerrillas attacked, captured and robbed a passenger train on the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad. The railroad refuses to accept Federal soldiers aboard for protection without receiving any compensation from the Union government.
