• Skirmish on Halcolm Island, MO, with the Bolin gang.
• Skirmish at Bogue Sound Block-house, NC, with Maj. Gen. George E. Pickett, CSA.
• Skirmish at Gales' Creek, NC, with Maj. Gen. George E. Pickett, CSA.
• The US Steamer, Underwriter, is captured near New Berne, NC, on the Neuse River, by Maj. Gen. George E. Pickett's CSA men.
• Skirmish at Newport Barracks, NC.
• The Confederate blockade-runner, Preston, is caught and destroyed at Charleston, SC.
• Skirmish near La Grange, TN, where the attacking Confederate Cavalry of offered the Federals battle, which they declined, electing to remain safely in their fort.
• Skirmish near Strasburg, VA.
• Skirmish at Patterson's Creek, WV, as Union Cavalry unsuccessfully contest the Confederates who captured the Union wagon train on Jan 30. The Rebels burn the bridges.

Thursday February 2 1865

• Skirmish at Duck Branch, near Loper's Cross-Roads, SC.
