  • The Engagement (Rear-Guard) at Jenkins' Ferry, Saline River, AR, the Camden (AR) Campaign.
  • Brig. Gen. William Read Scurry, CSA, is mortally wounded at the engagement at Jenkins' Ferry, AR, where he bled to death, refusing to be taken from the battlefield to surgeons who probably could have saved his life.
  • Brig. Gen. Samuel Allen Rice, USA, is severely wounded at the engagement at Jenkins' Ferry, AR, having his ankle bone shattered by a Confederate minieball.
